Fans Erupts As Siraj Leads India to Win At Oval: Mohammed Siraj, the only Indian pacer to play in all five Tests of the IND vs ENG Test series 2025, made the last impact on this series as he castled England’s Gus Atkinson, with England only six runs away from victory, to seal the 5th Test for India at The Oval.
This result meant that the inaugural Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy will be shared, as the series ended in 2-2. England had won the first Test in Leeds before India bounced back with a win in Edgbaston.
The third Test at Lord’s, another thrilling contest that went down to the wire, went England’s way by only 22 runs. In the fourth Test in Manchester, the Indian batsmen fought hard to save the match and escape with a draw.
It came down to the fifth Test and on two occasions it looked as if England would run away with it: when the England openers ransacked runs in their first innings and when Joe Root and Harry Brook forged a 195-run partnership in their chase on day 4.

However, the Indian pacers, in particular Siraj, kept coming back with spell after spell—perhaps making the management rue their decision of not playing a fourth seamer more and more—and kept producing wicket-taking deliveries to keep India alive.
Eventually, it came down to the last day of the series, meaning that the series was played on all of its 25 possible days, with England needing 35 runs and India needing four wickets.
While Jamie Overton took two fours on the first two balls of the day off Prasidh Krishna, after that, the Indian bowlers were spot on with their lines and lengths.
Mohammed Siraj first had Jamie Smith and Overton dismissed in his first two overs of the day. The two pacers kept bowling dry from thereon, and Krishna dismissed Josh Tongue.
The injured Chris Woakes came out with his right arm in a sling and held his bat with his left hand. Atkinson mowed Siraj for a six as the required runs came down to single digits. However, eventually, and fittingly, Siraj delivered the knockout blow, toppling Atkinson’s off-stump and doing his trademark “Siuuraj” celebration as the Indian players rallied around him, and it was pandemonium in the stands.
Netizens on Twitter, too, went wild. Let us check out some of the reactions from fans on social media.
