Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner beat defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the Wimbledon 2025 Gentlemen’s singles competition in four sets. This marks Sinner’s first title win at the grass courts of Wimbledon.

The match was one of the most hyped finals of a Grand Slam competition in some time. Firstly, this was the first Wimbledon men’s singles final since 2002 to not feature any of the following greats: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, or Andy Murray.

The second set saw the 23-year-old break the serve in the very first game. He. Then raced away to win the set, showing some exquisite play in between. The third set went on like it was supposed to, with both men having won four games each at one point. But then, Sinner broke Alcaraz’s fifth served game and went on to win the set 6-4.

By the time the fourth set had come, Sinner looked like the far better player, winning his serves comfortably and dominating play at every opportunity he got. After breaking Alcaraz’s second serve game, Sinner went on to win a third set in a row 6-4 and win the Wimbledon 2025 final.

This win brought Jannik Sinner Grand Slam titles count to four. This was his first win at Wimbledon. As for the Alcaraz grand slam titles count, it stands at five, giving him a slight edge in the rivalry between the two future legends.

As for the Sinner vs Alcaraz head-to-head record, the two have competed against one another in a singles capacity on 13 occasions. Of these, Carlos has won eight matches, while Jannik has won five. This record is 3-2 in favour of Alcaraz in Grand Slam matches.
