New Delhi: The book launch and discussion of ‘Gareebnawaaz’, the latest short story collection by senior poet and storyteller Mr. Santosh Choubey, was successfully held on Thursday, 4th September 2025, at the Sahitya Akademi Auditorium, New Delhi. The event was jointly organized by Vanmali Srijan Peeth, Delhi, and Rajkamal Prakashan Group.
Mr. Santosh Choubey, who also serves as the Director of Vishwarang and the Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University, has previously published six acclaimed collections: ‘Halkey Rang Ki Kameez’, ‘Restaurent Mein Dopahar’, ‘Nau Binduo Ka Khel’, ‘Beech Prem Mein Gandhi’, ‘Magar Shakespeare Ko Yaad Rakhna’, and ‘Pratinidhi Kahaniyan’. Gareebnawaaz is the latest addition to this significant literary repertoire.

The launch ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of renowned writer Mamta Kalia and distinguished author Janki Prasad Sharma, who spoke about the nuanced human emotions and social themes reflected in Choubey’s work. The welcome address was delivered by senior poet and President of Vanmali Srijan Peeth, Leeladhar Mandloi.”

The event featured a live story reading by Mr. Choubey, offering the audience a personal glimpse into the new collection. A rich literary discussion followed, with insightful commentary from prominent literary figures Mr. Akhilesh, Mr. Vinod Tiwari, Ms. Alpana Mishra, and Mr. Ashutosh. The session was conducted by young writer Mr. Pranjal Dhar, and concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Ashok Maheshwari of Rajkamal Prakashan Group.
Theatrical Adaptation of Stories Draws Audience at NSD, Delhi
Continuing the literary celebration, on Friday, 5th September 2025, the Sambhav Art Group, Delhi, staged a powerful theatrical adaptation of two stories from the collection — ‘Unke Hisse Ka Prem’ and ‘Gareebnawaaz’ — at the Sammukh Auditorium, National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi.
Directed by renowned theatre director Mr. Devendra Raj Ankur, the performances received an enthusiastic response from the audience. The adaptations brought Choubey’s storytelling to life on stage, portraying complex human relationships and social realities with emotional depth and artistic finesse.
Both events not only celebrated Mr. Santosh Choubey’s literary journey but also showcased the seamless transition of literature from the written word to stage performance. The joint efforts of Vanmali Srijan Peeth and Rajkamal Prakashan Group created a vibrant platform for literary and cultural dialogue.
