In a world where balancing work and passion is rare, Sachin Badhoriya is proving it’s not only possible, it’s powerful. A dedicated police officer by profession and a fierce armwrestler by passion, Sachin is all set to showcase his strength in Season 2 of the Pro Panja League, airing on Sony Sports Network from August 5.
Sachin is a part of Ludhiana Lions franchise of Pro Panja League. Whether he’s maintaining peace on the streets or facing opponents on the armwrestling table, Sachin’s discipline remains unmatched. Hailing from Madhya Pradesh, this dual-role powerhouse trains rigorously before and after his duty hours, often squeezing in table practice during weekends and holidays.
We caught up with Sachin for a quick chat about how he manages both roles and what his training regimen looks like.
Q: Sachin, being a full-time police officer is demanding. How do you manage time to train for armwrestling?
It’s definitely a challenge, but I treat both jobs with equal seriousness. I usually wake up at 5 AM and train for an hour before reporting for duty. In the evening, if I’m not on call, I hit the gym again. My weekends are dedicated to table practice with my sparring partners.
Q: Tell us a bit about your training regimen. What does a typical week look like?
Monday to Friday, I focus on strength and conditioning; especially wrist, forearm, and back. I incorporate resistance bands, heavy pulley systems, and specific armwrestling grip tools. Saturdays and Sundays are reserved for intense table time, working on technique, grip control, and reaction time with my coach and training group.
Q: What inspired you to take up armwrestling?
It started as a hobby during my police training days. I used to beat my batchmates in friendly matches. Eventually, I realized I had a knack for it and began taking it seriously. The discipline and mental toughness I developed as an officer really helped me grow in the sport.
Q: What does competing in Pro Panja League mean to you?
It’s a dream. This league is the biggest platform for armwrestlers in India. Representing the force and my state on national television is an honour. I hope I can inspire more people in uniform to pursue their passions alongside service.
With competitors like Sachin Badhoriya, Pro Panja League promises not just strength and speed, but stories of grit, passion, and national pride. Don’t miss him in action starting August 5 on Sony Sports Network.
