New Delhi/Noida: Centre Government has given additional charge of Commissioner, Delhi Police to SBK Singh 1988 batch IPS who is presently Director General of Home Guard as per office order issued in this regard by Ministry of Home Affairs here today.
SBK Singh who hails from Bihar has a vast experience in police and administrative functioning. He was earlier DGP of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. He has also served on various posts in Delhi Police on earlier occassions. He has started his career as young police officer in 1990 and has served as Special CP(Law & Order), Special CP (Intelligence Security), Joint CP(Crime), Additional CP(EOW). He has served one of the sensitive districts of Delhi; North East & Central District as DCP at young age.
The outgoing incumbent to the post of Commissioner Delhi Police; Sanjay Arora was retiring today after superannuation. Thereafter at last as a surprise, SBK Singh was given additional charge of Delhi Police as per order issued by Ministry of Home Affairs.
In the afternoon SBK Singh took charge of Commissioner Delhi Police from Sanjay Arora who was given farewell at police line in the evening alongwith Vivek Gogia Addition C P, Delhi Police. Although SBK Singh is also on the verge of retirement in the next 6 months.
