In a recent development, the Pro Panja League (PPL) has announced the suspension of Jaipur Veers’ armwrestler Siddhant Kathuria for a period of one year following disciplinary action taken against him for his behavior during Season 2 of the league.
According to the official statement released by the league management, the decision was made after a thorough review of Siddhant’s conduct during the recently concluded season. The disciplinary committee found his actions to be in violation of the league’s Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics, leading to the imposition of the suspension.
Siddhant Kathuria, who represented Jaipur Veers, was one of the promising young athletes in the Pro Panja League setup. Known for his aggressive style and on-table intensity, he made a mark in Season 2 with his competitive performances. However, the league emphasized that maintaining professionalism and sportsmanship remains a top priority across all teams and players.
Pro Panja League management team also shared a message with the press.
“We are committed to upholding the highest standards of discipline, sportsmanship, and respect across all levels of competition. Following a thorough internal review by the PPL Disciplinary Committee headed by Dr Shrikant Warankar, Siddhant Kathuria has been suspended from participation in all Pro Panja League activities for a period of one year, effective August 20th 2025.
This decision was made in response to an instance of indiscipline, which was found to be inconsistent with the values and code of conduct expected of our athletes. While we recognize the competitive intensity of our sport, we also believe in fostering an environment of mutual respect, integrity, and accountability.
We remain committed to supporting all athletes in their personal and professional growth, and we hope this decision serves as a constructive reminder of the standards we uphold.
We will not be commenting further at this time.
— Pro Panja League Management.”
The suspension means that Siddhant will be ineligible to participate in any official Pro Panja League events, training camps, or promotional activities until the completion of his suspension period.
The Pro Panja League, which has rapidly grown into India’s premier armwrestling competition, continues to set high standards for conduct both on and off the table ensuring that the sport remains competitive, entertaining, and true to its core values.
