Pat Cummins catch: Is there anything Pat Cummins cannot do on a cricket field? In the WI vs AUS 2nd Test, the Australian Test captain produced a catch for the ages that any athlete would be proud of. That he took this blinder off his own bowling makes it incredibly remarkable.

In their first innings of the second Test against the West Indies, in Grenada, Australia were bundled out for 286. Once again, it was up to the pacers to keep their side competitive and in the game.

After Josh Hazlewood removed Kraigg Brathwaite, also caught and bowled, Cummins put on a jaw-dropping effort to take the catch of No. 3 batsman Keacy Carty off his own bowling.

It was a good-length delivery from Pat Cummins that nipped into Carty. The batsman inside-edged it as he played a false defensive shot. After taking the inside edge, the ball lobbed off Carty’s front pad.

Initially, it looked as if the ball would fall in a no-man’s-land near what would be the silly mid-on position, which would be around the center of the pitch near the third pitch strip.

Then, out of nowhere, Cummins could be seen diving with his right hand outstretched as he had made a sprint the moment the ball had lobbed up off Carty’s pad. The ball fell right into Pat Cummins’ right hand, and he made a slide, despite which he completed the catch. The speedster threw the ball up in the air and roared in celebration before being mobbed by his teammates, who were as stunned as the viewers.

The third umpire had a check for a clean catch, which it was. It was an outrageous catch from Cummins, more so because it came off his own bowling and he had to change the direction from his follow-through. Simply outstanding.
