That’s a record-low price for one of our very favorite laptops for students – and for many general users, too. Previously, it dipped to around the $850 mark, so you’re saving an extra $50 on the previous low. At this price, it’s a great value laptop that serves many purposes: from everyday use, photo editing, video editing, coding, and more.
This is the latest MacBook Air with a super speedy M4 chip, extensive 18-hour battery life, and a gorgeous-looking 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display. It’s an ideal laptop to take to class and not worry about bulk or running out of charge. Even the smallest of dorms will have room for this laptop. It also doubles up well as a great media center, as well as a powerful workhorse, thanks to its surprisingly good speakers with Spatial Audio.

Our Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (M4) review called it “the best ultraportable”. The M4 chip “delivers top-notch performance” while it has an “all-day battery life” alongside its “excellent build and design”. It “provides all the power [needed] for the widest range of tasks” and richly deserves its 4.5-star rating.
Predictably, then, it shoots straight up to the top of our look at the best MacBooks, and we’re still very appreciative of its highly affordable price point. Its predecessor – the M3 model – ranks highly among the best student laptops, so it’s no surprise the M4 version follows suit. If you’re a student, this is the laptop you need in your life.
