Nissan Gravite will be powered by a 1.0L NA petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol mill; to reach showrooms in March 2026

Nissan officially confirmed the identity of its upcoming compact MPV for the Indian market and it will wear the Gravite badge. Unveiled during a digital presentation, the Gravite represents a critical piece in Nissan’s India revival roadmap and will kick off the brand’s 2026 product offensive ahead of the larger SUV introduction.

Under the skin, the Gravite is based on the CMF-A architecture – a proven platform that also underpins the Renault Triber. Production will take place at the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu ensuring high levels of localisation. While Nissan plans to showcase the midsize Tekton SUV at its resurgence event in February 2026, the Gravite will reach customers first – becoming Nissan’s opening act for the year.

The company has confirmed that the Gravite will be officially launched in January 2026 with bookings opening around the same time. However, customer deliveries are expected to begin slightly later, likely from March 2026. Despite sharing the architecture with the Triber, the Gravite will boast a distinctive design language.

Based on the teaser images, we have brought you digital renderings of the production model here featuring 15-inch alloy wheels. At the front, the MPV features a wide blacked-out fascia that integrates a slim LED light bar running across the width. The headlamps sit neatly within this dark housing while restrained bonnet creases add to its character. The Gravite nameplate is also prominently displayed at the nose.

The rear design follows the same sleek styling cues as the front. Slim LED tail lamps stretch across the tailgate and are visually connected by a dark trim element housing the Nissan logo. An upright tailgate, integrated roof spoiler and neatly framed rear windshield along with Gravite wording can be seen in the rendered images. Both front and rear bumpers have busy accents and skid plates.

On the inside, a three-row, seven-seat layout will be available with modular arrangement depending on the requirements. Powering the Gravite will be two petrol engine choices – a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated motor and a more potent 1.0-litre turbocharged unit. Nissan is expected to offer both manual and automatic gearbox options to enable an expansive range.

Alongside the launch of the compact SUV, Nissan has also outlined plans to expand its Indian dealership network to around 250 outlets. Pricing will more likely be one of the Gravite’s biggest advantages in a similar fashion to the Triber.
