New Tata Sierra is available with three engine choices; customer deliveries to begin mid next month
The return of the Tata Sierra has translated into an overwhelming market response with the SUV clocking more than 70,000 confirmed bookings within the first 24 hours of reservations opening. In addition to this, Tata Motors has revealed that another 1.35 lakh prospective buyers have already configured their preferred versions and are in the process of completing booking formalities.
What makes the achievement more notable is that the bookings opened only yesterday, yet the Sierra has already established itself as one of Tata’s strongest launches in recent years. Positioned above the Curvv in the brand’s lineup, the Sierra was introduced in late November 2025 and is offered at prices ranging from Rs. 11.49 lakh to Rs. 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Customers can book the SUV by paying a token amount of Rs. 21,000 through authorised dealerships or online channels. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from January 15, 2026. Variant choice is another area where Tata has gone all in. The Sierra is available in Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+ trims.

The SUV is built on Tata’s new ARGOS architecture, a platform designed to support multiple powertrain options along with modern electronics and safety systems. The Sierra combines old-school cues with modern styling elements. The upright stance and expansive glass area are clear callbacks to the original while sharp LED headlamps, full-width light bars and dual-tone alloy wheels bring it firmly into 2026.
Under the hood, buyers get three engine options. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol develops 106 PS and 145 Nm while the turbo petrol mill pushes output to 160 PS and 255 Nm. A 1.5-litre diesel rounds off the lineup with 120 PS and up to 280 Nm of torque. Gearbox choices include a six-speed manual, a torque converter automatic and a dual-clutch automatic depending on the engine.

On the inside, it gets a three-screen dashboard setup comprising a digital instrument cluster, central infotainment display and a dedicated passenger screen. Features such as a JBL audio system with a dash-mounted soundbar, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate, Level 2 ADAS, automatic climate control, etc.
Commenting on the booking milestone, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said, “We sincerely thank our customers for this overwhelming response which reaffirms the legendary status of the Tata Sierra. True to its legacy of redefining norms, the Sierra has pioneered a new category: the Premium Mid-SUV. Harnessing a deep understanding of evolving consumer aspirations, it reimagines what a mid-size SUV can be.”
