The Tata Punch facelift has been teased for the first time, partially revealing the updated exterior design
Tata Motors is ready to debut the new Punch in the Indian market. It is essentially the mid-life facelift version of the micro-SUV. Scheduled for a market launch on January 13, the company has shared the first teaser, revealing some bits of the new exterior design. For reference, the Punch is currently the best-selling car in the brand’s line-up, and it was initially launched in the country in 2021.
Going by the teaser video, the new Punch appears more macho and SUV-ier than before, sporting an upright stance. The highlight of the updated exterior design includes a new set of LED headlamps and fog lamps, sleek DRLs, a new front grille, and a refreshed front bumper, which looks quite muscular.
The rear profile will get a connected tail lamp setup. In addition to this, a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels can also be seen in the teaser video. Overall, it seems like the Indian carmaker is aiming for a more commanding SUV-like stance with the updated design, however, we will get a clearer picture at the time of launch.

The facelift model will bring the Punch at par with the latest design direction, as well as the equipment seen on the latest crop of Tata cars. It is also important to note that the new ICE Punch will not stray too far away from the Punch EV, in terms of both styling and features on offer.
While the interiors of the new Punch are under wraps, we can expect the updated micro-SUV to feature a larger 10.25-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a new steering wheel, tweaker dashboard layout, as well as fresh upholstery. In addition to this, a few features, like a 360-degree parking camera and ADAS will also be a part of the package, details of which could be revealed in the coming days.

Under the hood, the new Tata Punch will likely continue with the familiar 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, available in both petrol and CNG fuel options. The motor is tuned to produce 87 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT transmission. The CNG version comes with a lower 72 bhp and 103 Nm state of tune.
