The new-gen Kia Seltos will grow in size to offer more cabin space and a bigger trunk than the ongoing version of the SUV
The new-gen Kia Seltos is under development as it has been spotted multiple times during the testing phase in Korea as well as India. Now, according to sources, the new-gen model of the SUV will be bigger in size as compared to the current model. It has been further learnt that the new-gen Seltos will have more cabin space for the occupants than the current version. The 2026 Kia Seltos is rumoured to have its world premiere later this year in November while it could be launched in India in the first quarter of the next year.
Kia Seltos measures 4,365 mm in length and as per the sources, the new-gen model will be at least 100 mm longer, taking the overall length of the SUV to 4,465 mm. Needless to state, the new-gen SUV will be the longest in its segment, even larger than the Jeep Compass which has a length of 4,395 mm. The two arch rivals of the Seltos namely Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara measure 4,330 mm and 4,345 mm, respectively.
The increase in length will subsequently result in a larger wheelbase, translating to greater legroom for the occupants. The boot capacity is also likely to be higher than the present model. Undoubtedly, the new-gen Kia Seltos will be the most spacious offering in its segment with a bigger wheelbase than all of its foes. The spy images also reveal a redesigned dashboard and upholstery.

The new-gen Seltos design will be inspired by the Syros and EV9 SUVs with a plethora of premium paint schemes. Though the upright stance and boxy layout will be retained while it will be based on the brand’s latest ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. Riding on 18-inch alloy wheels, the new SUV will flaunt a new front grille and fog light housings.
Under the bonnet, the new-gen model will carry on with the existing engine choices. The present version of the SUV is available with a naturally-aspirated 1.5L petrol engine with power output of 113 bhp. In addition, there is a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine on offer with GT-Line and X-Line trims with top power of 158 bhp. Last but not the least, the diesel variants will be equipped with the 1.5L unit which develops 114 bhp.

It has been confirmed that the new-gen Seltos will be the first Kia SUV in India to feature the strong hybrid tech. The reports claim that the 1.5L 4-cylinder MPi petrol engine will be coupled with hybrid setup for higher variants of the SUV. The new-gen Kia Seltos hybrid is likely to launch a few months after the standard ICE model.
The ongoing manual and automatic transmission options will be continued with the new-gen Seltos as well. It will retain the advanced safety features of the current-gen model such as 6-airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill-start Assist Control, Rear Parking Sensors, Speed Sensing Auto Door Locks and Impact Sensing Auto Door Unlock among others.
