Bajaj Chetak C25 boasts a claimed range of 113 km between charges and it uses a 2.5 kWh battery pack and a hub motor

A couple of days ago, Bajaj Auto expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the introduction of the all-new Chetak C25 for Rs. 91,399 (ex-showroom) – a city-focused EV for ease of use and practical everyday riding. Positioned as an accessible yet well-equipped electric scooter, the C2501 sits at the bottom of the Chetak range by being Rs. 17,000 cheaper than 3001.

At the centre of attraction of the Chetak C25 is a 2.5 kWh battery pack which is said to delivering an IDC certified range of 113 km per charge. Power is supplied to a hub-mounted motor which is tuned for smooth and predictable performance. The zero-emission scooter has a top speed of 55 kmph. Using an off-board 750W charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 2 hours and 25 minutes.

It must be noted that a full charge takes 3 hours and 45 minutes. Bajaj has also included an on-the-go charging facility allowing riders to power external devices such as smartphones or accessories during rides. The Chetak C25 is built around a metal body despite being priced competitively against models from Ola, TVS, Vida, Ather and others.

The Bajaj Chetak C25 carries an IP67 rating which ensures resistance against water and dust along with mud-proof construction for all-weather reliability. Safety hardware comprises a front disc brake and rear drum brake and is suspended on telescopic forks and twin shocks. In terms of ride and practicality, the scooter features a ground clearance of 170 mm.

A low seat height of 763 mm is accompanied by a kerb weight stands of 108 kg. The scooter also boasts a tight turning radius of 1,825 mm. Storage has been thoughtfully addressed with 25 litres of under-seat space which is sufficient to accommodate a helmet or daily essentials. On the tech front, the Chetak C25 gets a colour LCD display, reverse assist, Eco and Sport ride modes, and call accept/reject functionality.

Optional TecPac features add functions such as hill hold, music control and guide-me-home lighting. The Bajaj Chetak C25 is offered in a range of colours such as Inductive Black, Racing Red, Classic White, Ocean Teal (Matte), Opalescent Silver and Misty Yellow. Bajaj backs the scooter with a standard warranty of 3 years or 50,000 km (whichever comes first).
