MG recorded sales of 6,578 units in the month of August 2025 with an impressive 52 per cent year-on-year jump
JSW MG Motor India registered sales of 6,578 units in the month of August 2025 in the domestic market – enduring an impressive 52 per cent year-on-year jump over the 4,323 units posted in August 2024. The carmaker also recorded its highest monthly deliveries of the year so far – complemented by the onset of the festive season and healthy demand for its Windsor EV.
The MG Windsor EV continued to lead the way in terms of volumes as India’s best-selling EV – notching up its highest-ever monthly sales with a 5 per cent rise over the previous month of July 2025. The entry-level Comet too had its best month of 2025 in wholesale terms – posting a 21 per cent gain compared to the previous month.
In addition, the company expanded its reach with the opening of three new dealerships in August – extending coverage to more than 90 per cent of the country. The brand’s network now spans over 543 sales and service outlets across 270 cities. To strengthen aftersales support, the company has also rolled out service centres within a 15 km radius.
The brand says it will ensure most customers can access assistance in under 30 minutes. Since its market launch, over 40,000 units of the Windsor EV have been sold in India and it has been the highest selling passenger EV for eleven consecutive months. The prices for the CUV begin with a Battery-as-a-Service plan at Rs. 9.99 lakh with usage charged at Rs. 3.9 per kilometre.
Earlier this year, the lineup was expanded with the arrival of the Pro editions – available in Essence Pro and Exclusive Pro trims. Each of these variants is powered by a 52.9 kWh battery delivering an ARAI-tested driving range of 449 kilometres on a single charge. The Essence Pro trim brings in equipment such as Level 2 ADAS, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionalities.
Under the Battery-as-a-Service plan, the Windsor Pro can be had at Rs. 13.09 lakh with a running cost of Rs. 4.5 per kilometre for the battery. For those opting to buy it outright, the five-seater crossover starts at Rs. 18.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
Powering the MG Windsor is an electric motor putting out 136 PS and 200 Nm. The cabin also gets automatic climate control, adjustable headrests, lounge-like seats that recline up to 135 degrees and a large 15.6-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, navigation and other vehicle controls.
