Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be sold via Nexa premium outlets and it will be available with two battery options in India
Recently, Maruti Suzuki introduced the Victoris midsize SUV in India. Sold through Arena dealerships, the five-seater is positioned slightly below the Grand Vitara and its initial reception has been nothing short of positive as over 25,000 bookings were made in just a few weeks. Now, the largest carmaker in the country is looking to further consolidate its SUV portfolio.
The Indo-Japanese manufacturer showcased the e Vitara, its first all-electric vehicle, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and it will finally hit showrooms in the last month of this calendar year. The series production of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara commenced in August for international markets and already over 6,000 units have been shipped from SMC’s Gujarat plant.
Initially, more than 2,900 units were exported from Pipavav Port in Gujarat to 12 European countries including the UK, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria and Belgium as the locally made zero-emission SUV will be shipped to over 100 nations worldwide while also reaching the domestic market.

It will give rise to a Toyota sibling in the form of the Urban Cruiser BEV as well. For India, it will be retailed through the premium Nexa sales outlets and expect the starting price to be in the upwards of Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be equipped with a 48.8 kWh and a 61.1 kWh LFP battery pack sourced from BYD with the claimed driving range going over 500 km per charge.
It is all set to take on Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV and Harrier EV, Mahindra XEV 9e, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, MG Windsor EV, etc. The smaller battery pack paired with an electric motor makes 144 PS and 192.5 Nm of torque while the larger one comes with a more powerful motor rated at 174 PS max power and 192.5 Nm of torque.

Courtesy of DC fast charging, the battery can be replenished back to 80 per cent from nothing in just 50 minutes. To be available in Delta, Zeta and Alpha trim levels, it sits on the Heartect e architecture and will have high safety standards as well.
The equipment list boasts a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.1-inch digital instrument console, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, Level 2 ADAS, seven airbags, a 360-degree camera and more.
