Mahindra XEV 7E EV

Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to launch in India within the next six months and it will be equipped with two battery options

Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to launch the facelifted XUV 700 early next year while a brand new three-row EV is also under development. To likely be dubbed the XEV 7e, it has been spotted testing multiple times across India and here we have showed you the latest spy image ahead of its potential market launch within the next six months.

Expected to be underpinned by the INGLO platform found in the BE 6 and XEV 9e, it will likely have a lot in common with the existing XUV 700 as well. While Mahindra is still keeping detailed specifications under wraps, the SUV’s design isn’t a mystery anymore as production-ready images surfaced online a few months ago.

For the XEV 7e, Mahindra seems to be aiming higher up the premium ladder. There’s also growing speculation that a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant could be part of the final plan as it could share its LFP batteries and electric motors with the XEV 9e and BE 6. However, the company is yet to make any official announcement on this setup.

Styling for the Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to stay close to the XUV.e8 concept – featuring a closed-off grille and prominent LED daytime running signatures. Aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels are likely to make the cut as well improving efficiency and range. Recent spy images suggest rear design with a full-width LED light bar and a sharply sculpted tailgate.

Expect ventilated front seats, plush upholstery, automatic climate control and a large panoramic sunroof to feature prominently. The leaked images also hint at a triple-screen setup – combining a wide central touchscreen with digital driver and co-passenger displays. It may also gain a powered tailgate and powered driver seat.

Powering the Mahindra XEV 7e will likely be 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. Depending on the variant, the three-row SUV is expected to deliver a range of more than 500 km on a single charge with DC fast charging capability. The Mahindra XEV 7e appears to stay faithful to the XUV.e8 concept in overall design but it introduces subtle tweaks to set itself apart from the larger XEV 9e.
