Mahindra XEV 9S is equipped with three battery packs enabling a real-world range of over 500 km between charges
Mahindra has positioned the XEV 9S as a premium family-based electric vehicle, claiming a running expense of just Rs 1.2 per kilometre and maintenance costs of roughly 40 paise per kilometre. For business owners, the company highlights 40% depreciation benefits and since most Indian states levy minimal road tax on electric vehicles, overall ownership costs are expected to remain significantly lower than comparable ICE SUVs.
Built on the dedicated INGLO electric platform, the XEV 9S is available in three battery configurations – 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh – all using advanced LFP cell chemistry with a lifetime battery warranty. The company claims a real-world driving range of up to 500 km while DC fast charging can take the battery from 20 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes.
The electric drivetrain produces between up to 210 kW of power with a consistent 380 Nm torque output. Mahindra claims a 0–100 kmph sprint in just 7 seconds before topping out at 202 kmph. Higher variants get intelligent adaptive suspension while all versions benefit from multi-step regenerative braking, one-pedal drive and multiple driving modes.

In boasts 4,076 litres of combined front and second-row cabin volume along with a 150-litre frunk and up to 527 litres of boot space. The third row gets 50:50 split seats while the second row comes loaded with ventilated seats, Boss Mode, sliding and reclining function, window sunshades and laminated acoustic glass for sound insulation.
Every variant features a triple 12.3-inch screen setup stretching across the dashboard – powered by either the Snapdragon 8155 or the more powerful 8295 chipset. The system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 5G connectivity, in-built OTT apps, video calling, drive video recording and remote features through the Me4U app.

Safety equipment includes a high-stiffness body structure, brake-by-wire system, electronic parking brake and all-wheel disc brakes. Depending on variant, it offers six or seven airbags (with driver knee airbag), L2+ ADAS with radar and camera setup, lane centering assist, emergency steering, blind spot detection, cross-traffic alerts, etc.
The Mahindra XEV 9S is priced from Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom) – going up to Rs 29.45 lakh for the Pack Three Above with 79 kWh battery.
