Mahindra 3-Door Thar

Expected to go on sale soon in India, the Mahindra Thar 3-Door facelift will continue to be powered by the familiar diesel and petrol engines

Mahindra & Mahindra is readying facelift models of its existing SUV line-up. While the XUV700 facelift is on the cards for next year, the Indian SUV maker will likely debut the mid-cycle facelift of the Thar 3-door and Bolero Neo in the coming months. Let’s look at the details of the Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift and Bolero Neo facelift.

1. Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift

The second-generation Thar 3-door is due for a mid-life facelift update, as after 5 years of its initial debut, the SUV needs a fresh appeal in order to continue its momentum in the market. Expected to launch soon in India, the facelifted Thar will get an all-new front fascia, inspired by the Thar Roxx. A new front grille, LED headlamps with integrated C-shaped DRLs and a revised front bumper will be a part of the package, along with a new set of alloy wheels.

The highlight of the Thar facelift will be its overhauled cabin layout, which will see the addition of a free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system. We expect the updated model to feature a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging and connected car tech.

The Mahindra Thar 3-Door facelift will continue to be powered by the familiar 1.5-litre turbo diesel, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel and 2.0-litre mStallion petrol engines. It will be available in both RWD and 4WD configurations.

2. Mahindra Bolero Neo Facelift

The Bolero Neo was recently spotted testing with a camouflaged front fascia. Mahindra could introduce the updated version of the SUV later this month. While the overall profile and rear section will remain unchanged, the front fascia will likely get a new set of LED headlamps with integrated DRLs. In addition to this, a new grille and revised bumper can be seen in the spy shots.

The updated Bolero Neo could get a major revamp to its interiors. We can expect a larger infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, revised dashboard layout and upholstery, along with the addition of some new features. However, nothing can be confirmed as of now.

Under the hood, the Mahindra Bolero Neo facelift will continue to be powered by the familiar mHawk100 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo diesel engine, putting out 100 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque. The power is channelled to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.
