The Scorpio N will get a host of advanced features in the next 3-4 months which will include Level 2 ADAS and Panoramic Sunroof

Mahindra & Mahindra will roll out several exciting models in the next 12 months in the Indian market. This includes the new-gen Bolero, XUV 7OO facelift, Thar facelift and born-electric SUVs. Needless to mention, the Mumbai-based automaker will also update the Scorpio N with a few never-seen-before features during the festive season of Diwali later this year. The new SUV is also expected to come with advanced safety equipment while the possibility of cosmetic changes can’t be ruled out entirely. Though from what we have learnt through sources, the design tweaks are going to be rather subtle in nature.

The biggest inclusion, revealed the sources closer to the development, will be Level 2 ADAS suite which will be packed with bells and whistles such as Auto Emergency Braking (AEB), Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning and several others. Mahindra Scorpio N could also get a 360 degree camera in the higher variants.

The other big feature addition could be of a panoramic sunroof in the Scorpio N. Presently, the SUV is available with a single-pane sunroof in the range-topping variants. The inclusion of this feature could enhance its value among the rival SUVs and make the Scorpio N on par with them. We can also expect the brand to introduce rear ventilated seats in the 6-seater configuration.

Mahindra can also equip the new iteration of the Scorpio N with a bigger touchscreen infotainment system. It can come with a 10.1-inch screen as the central touchscreen unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. While the inclusion of Level 2 ADAS with AEB in the Scorpio N is almost certain, there is no confirmation about the inclusion of all other features mentioned before.

Mechanically, the Scorpio N will remain unchanged as the same 2.0L turbocharged petrol and 2.2L turbocharged diesel engine will be at the helm. The transmission choices will be 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic units. The 4WD system will continue to be offered in the top-end trims as an option.

Mahindra Scorpio N is also sold in various global markets such as Australia, New Zealand and New Guinea. However, in order to continue sales in these countries, Mahindra has to offer AEB as a standard feature in the Scorpio N, as per the mandate by the governments of these nations. Hence, the made-in-India Scorpio N exported and sold in these markets will be installed with Level 2 ADAS and AEB.
