Victor Gyokeres Transfer News: Swedish striker Victor Gyokeres is reportedly keen on signing with Premier League club Manchester United this summer, if recent reports are to be believed. His heart is seemingly set on United despite interest from other English clubs.
Gyokeres has blown up over the last two seasons playing for Sporting CP in Portugal’s Primeira Liga. While he was the league’s highest goal scorer in 2023-24, it was the 2024-25 season in which he became the next big name in world football.
In the season that recently concluded, the 27-year-old scored 54 goals and assisted 13 in 52 games. He scored 39 of these in 32 games in the Portuguese league. Gyokeres also scored six goals in eight UEFA Champions League matches, which includes a memorable hat-trick against Manchester City.
Victor Gyokeres Transfer News
Due to a stellar season, Victor Gyokeres is the hottest striker on the market despite not being the youngest. At the age of 27, several big clubs are looking to sign him for the upcoming season. But the frontrunners in this race for the past month have been Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool. The Victor Gyokeres transfer news is now dominating headlines.
Liverpool were reported to be ahead in the race for his signature a few days back, but those reports have since been proven far from accurate, seeing the Reds have made two massive signings in Florian Wirtz and Jérémie Frimpong ahead of the upcoming season.

Next is Arsenal, who have been looking for a world-class centre forward for years as the final piece of a championship-winning side for the Gunners. And Gyokeres might be the answer to all their prayers. However, Victor Gyokeres to Arsenal seems exceedingly unlikely now.
Victor Gyokeres To Manchester United
It now seems that United have the best chances of signing the Swede. A recent report by TeamTalk suggests that Victor Gyokeres to Manchester United is nearly a done deal, as the striker wants to join up with the Red Devils ahead of the upcoming season.
This is quite surprising, seeing how the Manchester-based club finished 15th in the Premier League last season. They also lost the UEFA Europa League final to Tottenham, which means no European football for them this season.
However, this potential move makes a lot more sense once you realise that Man United manager Ruben Amorim’s previous job was as the head coach of Sporting CP. In his final season in Portugal, Amorim oversaw Gyokeres’ rise as a world-class striker.
Amorim has been interested in bringing his former striker into United as competition to Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, both of whom have been underwhelming in their time in Manchester.
Ruben Amorim has already brought in Wolves striker Matheus Cunha as an attacking option and is also close to signing Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo. But signing Gyokeres will be the shining piece in his efforts to shore up the United attack this summer.
