Kia Carens Clavis EV has been made available in four variants and six colour schemes; claimed range goes up to 490 km between charges
Kia confirmed pricing for the Carens Clavis EV, its first electric vehicle to be built in India, a few days ago. The entry-level HTK+ variant has been priced at Rs. 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the EV are set to begin tomorrow across the country. The new electric model draws heavily from the recently refreshed internal combustion version.
The Carens Clavis EV can be bought in six paint finishes: Gravity Gray, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Pewter Olive, Aurora Black Pearl and a matte Ivory Silver. The variant spread includes HTK+, HTX, HTX ER and HTX+ ER. Pricing for the HTX stands at Rs. 20.49 lakh while the HTX ER commands a premium of Rs. 2 lakh. The top-spec HTX+ ER has been priced at Rs. 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia claims a maximum driving range of up to 490 km in the IDC cycle for the Carens Clavis EV. Buyers can choose between two battery packs: a 42 kWh unit with a rated range of 404 km, and a larger 51.4 kWh version – similar to the ones used in the Hyundai Creta EV. Charging support covers both 7.4 kW and 11.2 kW fast AC options.

At the front, the Carens Clavis EV boasts a full-length LED light bar stretching across the fascia connecting uniquely shaped tri-pod LED headlamps at either end. The charging port, subtly embedded into the nose section, marks another EV-specific revision. Additional design changes include updated dual-tone alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the Carens Clavis EV carries over the two-spoke multifunction steering wheel and twin-screen setup, centre console has been raised for a more upright layout, overhead AC vents at the back, automatic climate control, wireless charging facility, ambient lighting, a suite of ADAS functions and six airbags amongst others.
