Honda to reduce prices of its cars in India owing to the new GST rates, which come into effect on 22nd September 2025
Following Tata Motors, Mahindra, Hyundai, and many other brands, Honda has announced price reductions in light of the revision in GST rate structure last week. The Japanese automaker has said it will pass on the complete benefit of the recent GST rate reduction on cars to its customers, effective 22nd September 2025.
With essentially just three models in its line-up, Honda is a very small player in the Indian car market. The company’s range starts with the second-generation Amaze, which it offers in two configurations, priced at 7,62,800 rupees (ex-showroom Delhi) and 8,52,600 (ex-showroom Delhi). It plans to reduce the prices of the old sub-4 metre sedan by up to 72,800 rupees.
The third-generation Amaze, available in six different configurations, costs anywhere between 8,09,900 rupees (ex-showroom Delhi) and 11,19,900 rupees (ex-showroom Delhi). Honda will reduce the prices of the newer sub-4 metre sedan by up to 95,500 rupees.

While both Amaze models attract a GST of 29% (including 1% Compensation Cess) at present, from 22nd September, that number will be changed to 18%. The rest of the Honda line-up will attract 40% GST instead of 45% (including 17% Compensation Cess) currently.
The Honda Elevate, which competes with the Hyundai Creta and the likes, comes in nine different configurations. Its prices fall in the 11,91,000-16,73,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) range. Honda plans to reduce the prices of the premium SUV by up to 58,400 rupees.

The Honda City comes in eight different configurations, priced from 12,38,000 rupees (ex-showroom Delhi) to 16,64,900 rupees (ex-showroom Delhi). Honda plans to reduce the prices of the premium sedan by 57,500 rupees. This model shaped the Japanese brand in the Indian car market but has fallen out of favour due to the declining popularity of sedans in general.
Honda offers the City in an ‘e:HEV’ hybrid variant as well, in a single configuration priced at 19,89,990 rupees (ex-showroom Delhi). It has not announced a specific price cut for the electrified derivative, though. As before, the Indian government has no plans to offer a relief in GST on hybrid cars and taxes them the same as non-electrified ICE models.
