GST 2.0 Price Drop: Jawa & Yezdi Get Cheaper By Nearly Rs. 17,000

Classic Legends has now priced the Jawa and Yezdi range of motorcycles for under Rs 2 lakh as it passes on full GST 2.0 benefits to customers

Classic Legends has announced sweeping price cuts across its Jawa and Yezdi portfolios thanks to the GST 2.0 reforms that lowered the tax rate on motorcycles under 350 cc from 28 per cent to 18 per cent. The company has passed the entire benefit on to customers making almost all of its models available under the Rs 2 lakh mark.

The biggest gainers are Jawa models which see price drops in the range of Rs 13,500 to nearly Rs 17,000. The Jawa 42, for instance, now starts at Rs 1.59 lakh – down from Rs 1.72 lakh – while the Jawa 350 gets a cut of Rs 15,543 bringing its sticker price to Rs 1.83 lakh. Premium offerings like the 42 Bobber and 42 T are now priced at Rs 1.93 lakh each – both cheaper by over Rs 16,000.

The Perak, previously over Rs 2.16 lakh, now slips just under the Rs 2 lakh threshold at Rs 1.99 lakh – a crucial psychological price point for many buyers. The Yezdi range has also benefitted handsomely from the tax cut. The Yezdi Roadster now costs Rs 1.93 lakh – cheaper by Rs 16,404. The Adventure which was earlier priced at Rs 2.14 lakh, now sits at Rs 1.98 lakh – a saving of Rs 16,789.

Similarly, the Scrambler has dropped by Rs 16,555 making it available at Rs 1.95 lakh. All three motorcycles now comfortably slot below Rs 2 lakh, making them far more accessible to enthusiasts. The Perak and Adventure which both hovered above the Rs 2 lakh line are now positioned more competitively in the slightly above entry-level middleweight space.

The company has also reaffirmed its commitment to 4 years or 50,000 km standard warranty – extendable to six years – roadside assistance and lower costs for spares and service all of which have also seen GST-linked reductions.

GST 2.0 has rewritten the rules for India’s two-wheeler market – slashing tax by 10 per cent on motorcycles and scooters up to 350 cc. It brings instant relief for nearly 98 per cent of buyers, making mass favourites more affordable just in time for the festive season.

But the reform has also introduced a steep 40 per cent GST slab for bikes above 350 cc – pushing up prices of machines like the Himalayan 450, the 650 Twins, KTM 390s and Triumph’s 400s.
