Ghaziabad: Residents of
Krishnanagar Bagu and Bhimnagar colonies, located near the Vijaynagar Bypass in Ghaziabad, held a meeting on Sunday at Saraswati School. The main agenda was to discuss the recurring problem of rainwater entering homes during the monsoon season.

The residents collectively decided to repair the damaged culvert wall under the National Highway, which has been the main cause of waterlogging. Due to the broken culvert, rainwater would overflow onto the streets and seep into houses, creating serious flooding issues every year.

“Every monsoon, life becomes difficult for us. Water directly enters our homes. Once the culvert is repaired, we will finally get some relief,” said Ashu Gurjar, a resident of Krishnanagar.

Bipin Kumar, a resident of Bhimnagar, added, “Last year, even sending children to school became a challenge. This initiative was absolutely necessary for all of us.”

Residents said they had been suffering from this issue for a long time, but now with the culvert repair, they hope that proper drainage will prevent waterlogging in the colony during the rains.

“We kept waiting for government support, but too much time was lost. Now we decided to resolve this problem ourselves through unity,” said Tarun Sharma, a member of the local youth committee.

This step by the residents is not only an example of community cooperation, but also a reminder that collective efforts can solve even the most persistent challenges.
