EXCLUSIVE: Manoj Bajpayee On Acting – Luxury and Branded Stuff Are Never the Goal
When it comes to Bollywood, we often picture the glitz, the glamour, the expensive cars, designer clothes, and million-dollar mansions. But Manoj Bajpayee, the powerhouse actor known for his intense performances, is a refreshing exception to this flashy stereotype.
EXCLUSIVE: Manoj Bajpayee On Acting – Why Luxury and Branded Stuff Are Never the Goal
In an exclusive chat with Instant Bollywood, Manoj opened up about his down-to-earth approach to life and acting, and why materialism has never been on his radar.
Manoj made it very clear that fame, luxury, or money have never been his driving forces. “I have never been interested in name, fame, or money,” he said with his trademark straightforwardness.
Forget sports cars or flashy watches; he’s not chasing those. Instead, he prefers simple, good clothes. “I don’t care much about branded stuff,” he added, sounding perfectly content in his simplicity.
What’s more interesting is how his personal philosophy reflects in his professional life. Manoj comes from a family that values simplicity. “We like to live within our limits,” he explained. The idea is simple: keep expenses in check, and you don’t need to work just to sustain a lifestyle you don’t actually care about.
“Eventually Your Reason To Work Will Be To Just Meet Increasing Expenses, I Want To Avoid That” – Manoj Bajpayee
“If you keep increasing expenses, eventually, you will have to work to meet those expenses, which I don’t want.”
His focus is crystal clear – happiness doesn’t come from piling up material possessions.
At the core of it all is his love for acting. For Manoj, being in front of the camera is not a stepping stone to luxury; it is about doing what he loves. “It’s very important because I enjoy acting. And that enjoyment should never stop,” he shared. He stresses the importance of always remembering why he became an actor in the first place.
He keeps things simple yet powerful – “God gives you money if you work hard. God gives you a nice car, nice clothes, a nice house. So the focus should never be on materialistic stuff. The focus should be solely on the work, and enjoying the work. Everything else happens on its own.”
In the end, it seems like Manoj’s recipe for success is not chasing things but focusing on the craft itself. After all, when you truly love what you do, everything else just falls into place.
