CR7 Pleads Peace To Donald Trump With Gift:- Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo gifted a jersey to the United States of America president, Donald Trump. On the jersey, the 40-year-old had written a message, pleading with the world leader for peace amidst multiple wars active in the world.
The 51st annual G7 summit is currently underway in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada. G7 is a multinational forum that has been shaping global politics and economy for over 50 years. While there are seven permanent members of the organisation (as the name suggests), several other countries are invited to observe each year.
Two permanent members of the G7 are the European Union and the US. The United States, naturally, is being represented by their president, Donald Trump, while the EU has been represented by the European Council President, Antonio Costa.

While not something much discussed in a G7 meeting, sports play a crucial part in the lives of all the people this forum intends to improve. A massive part of culture all over the world, sports have been an excellent tool to guide policy and improve relations between countries.

So it was a news-worthy moment when Costa, the EU representative to the G7 meeting, gifted a CR7 jersey to Trump, the US president and arguably the most powerful man in the world.
But the jersey was more symbolic than a gift from one insanely famous person to another. On that t-shirt, Ronaldo wrote a message, which read:
“To President Donald Trump. Playing for peace.”
Currently, there are multiple wars ongoing around the world. The Russian invasion of Ukraine, which led to a war between the two nations three years ago, is still going on. Meanwhile, the Israel-Palestine conflict has claimed the lives of thousands. And now, Israel has started a brand new war with Iran.
The US president, considered the leader of the free world, has a lot of influence over every country in the world. So, President Trump has to intervene and play a massive role in the negotiations if these wars are to be stopped.
As for Cristiano Ronaldo, he most recently won the UEFA Nations League with Portugal. At 40 years old. He is now gearing up for his third full season with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, as the 2025-26 season of the league will start in late August of this year.
