BMW has now launched a high-power charging corridor spanning 4,000 km from Jammu in the north to Madurai in the south to avoid range anxiety

BMW Group India has become the first luxury carmaker in the country to surpass 5,000 electric vehicle deliveries. To celebrate this achievement, the company has launched a high-power charging corridor spanning 4,000 km from Jammu in the north to Madurai in the south. The corridor places chargers at intervals of 300 km to avoid range anxiety.

Covering routes through major cities such as Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hubbali, Bengaluru, Coimbatore and Madurai, the stations are equipped with capacities ranging from 120 kW to 720 kW. They located at places where customers can stop for a coffee, grab a meal or simply relax with in-car entertainment while their EV charges.

Operated in partnership with leading providers like Statiq and Zeon, the charging network has been made accessible to customers of all EV brands. Adding to this, BMW Group India already operates nearly 300 Destination Chargers across premium hotels, resorts and malls in India. With strategic tie-ups with large charging networks, the brand now provides customers access to over 6,000 charging points nationwide.

Payments are simplified with a unified gateway – eliminating the need to download multiple apps.

Complimentary home chargers, open access to fast-charging facilities at BMW and Mini dealerships and new features like Smart E-Routing and BMW Destination Charging are also available. BMW Group India currently offers the widest luxury EV portfolio in the country including the BMW i7, iX, i5, i4, iX1 Long Wheelbase, MINI Countryman E, as well as the BMW CE 04 and CE 02 electric scooters.
