New gen Kia Seltos will more likely be introduced in India in 2026 with an assortment of visual updates and interior changes; to retain existing powertrains
The next-generation Seltos has been spotted testing again hinting at a major redesign with a busier overall styling and a thoroughly revised interior. Rumours suggest a hybrid powertrain could be added later in its lifecycle and thus the existing 1.5L NA petrol, the 1.5L CRDi diesel and the 1.5L turbocharged petrol engines will stay put.
The SUV appears to borrow design cues from the brand’s global offerings with chiseled body lines, a revamped grille, vertical LED Daytime Running Lights and stacked headlamps give the front fascia a more aggressive look. It also gets new dual-tone alloy wheels, a triangular rear quarter glass, redesigned bumpers at the front and rear and updated taillight signatures.
Particular at the rear, the C-shaped LED lighting system and high mounted stop lamp can be clearly seen in these spy pictures. The South Korean auto major is also expected to introduce new paint options. Though the next-gen Seltos may keep the exterior proportions largely similar, the real changes are expected inside the cabin.

Kia will more likely introduce a thorough redesign to the dashboard and centre console with new materials and textures for a more premium feel while upgraded technologies could bring improved in-car connected features alongside a range of advanced safety and driver-assistance systems. A larger touchscreen and a fully digital driver’s display are also possible.
The equipment list will also comprise auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated front seats, Boss mode, powered driver seat with memory function, adjustable headrests, automatic climate control system, multifunctional steering wheel, ambient lighting, cooled glovebox, armrest at the front and rear, six airbags as standard as in the existing model, a panoramic sunroof, etc.

There is growing speculation that Kia might introduce an all-wheel-drive variant of the second generation Seltos in select markets but whether India will be part of the plans or not is yet unknown. The brand is also expected to bring in the electric version of the Syros compact SUV sometime next year to further consolidate its SUV portfolio.
