Air India Plane Crashes At Ahmedabad Airport Just After Take Off

Ahmedabad/Delhi/ Noida : An AirIndia passenger plane today crashed at Ahmedabad at Meghaninagar near airport during take off today around 2 pm.

The plane was carrying around 242 passengers onboard and was bound to London. The aircraft crashed at around 2 pm just after take Emergency services rushed to the accident site.

The said aircraft of Air India; B787 (model Aircraft VT-ANB), was in operation while operating flight AI-171 from Ahmedabad to Gatwick; London has crashed immediately after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport. There were 242 people on board the aircraft, consisting of 230 passengers, 2 pilots and 10 cabin crew. The said aircraft was under the command of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal with First Officer Clive Kundar: Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered an enquiry of the incident as reported by ANI.

In a statement, Air India said that the flight AI-171 was heading to London’s Gatwick from Ahmedabad. There were 242 passengers on board. “At this moment, we are ascertaining the details and will share further updates at the earliest on our website and on our X handle.” Air India said in a statement released just after the accident. Vijay Rupani ex CM Gujarat feared among passengers. According to the passengers list documents Vijay Ramniklal Rupani was the 12 th passenger on the list and was booked in Z class which falls under the “Business Class” Category.
