Four new electric SUVs From Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra and Toyota are ready to shake up the midsize segment in the coming months
The midsize SUV space is gearing up for a major product assault as four brand new battery-powered models are getting ready to be launched over the next few months. Big names like Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Toyota are preparing to go full-on with their new offerings with strong range, modern design and latest features.
Electric SUVs are quickly becoming the preferred choice for buyers looking for size, presence and practicality without compromising on sustainability. With this new batch of launches, the competition is set to level up further in one of the country’s fastest-growing automotive categories.
1. Tata Sierra Electric:

The much-awaited Tata Sierra is returning to the market in an all-new avatar – reviving one of India’s most iconic nameplates. Tata will first introduce the ICE-powered versions later this month – followed by the Sierra EV in early 2026. Expected to pack dual battery choices with a claimed driving range of around 500 km, the electric Sierra will come loaded with premium kit such as a triple-screen layout, terrain drive modes, ventilated seats, panoramic roof and Level 2 ADAS. The model will slot above the Curvv EV.
2. Mahindra XEV 9S:

Mahindra will officially kick off its next EV chapter with the XEV 9S – the all-electric derivative of the XUV700 and production version of XUV.e8 concept. Launching on November 27, the SUV will be built on the brand’s INGLO modular EV platform and will feature two battery configurations with the top-spec variant targeting a real-world range of up to 500 km.
3. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

Maruti Suzuki’s long-awaited e Vitara will become the company’s official entry into the electric SUV segment. Set for launch next month, the model will be produced at the Gujarat facility and retailed via Nexa outlets. The e Vitara will offer 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs. It will come equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital cluster, panoramic sunroof, and ADAS features putting it right up against rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra XEV 9e and Tata Harrier EV.
4. Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV:

Toyota will join the electric SUV race with the Urban Cruiser BEV which will share its underpinnings with the Maruti e Vitara. Developed on Suzuki’s Heartect e platform, the five-seater SUV will also come with two battery pack choices, an all-digital cockpit, dual displays, wireless charging, OTA updates and a full suite of ADAS functions. Set to debut in early 2026, it will carry the design identity similar to its global siblings.
