New Tata Sierra will go on sale on November 25 and it will be available in an expansive range; will be sold in ICE and electric variants
Tata Motors has dropped the first official teaser for the all-new Sierra confirming its market debut on November 25, 2025. The revival of this legendary nameplate meant that a brand new midsize SUV is all set to slot between the Curvv and Harrier in Tata’s SUV range. The SUV will be available with both electric and ICE powertrains with the latter arriving first.
The brand is reportedly working on multiple iterations of its 1.5-litre engine family including a naturally aspirated petrol, a turbocharged TGDi petrol and a diesel unit. The new turbo motor, tuned for around 168 PS and 280 Nm, will be paired with both a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic.
The electric Sierra will likely be built on the same platform that underpins the Harrier EV. Two battery pack configurations are expected with the larger one capable of delivering over 500 km of driving range. Fast charging capability and bidirectional charging will be offered.
Visually, the signature wraparound rear glass panel makes a comeback, this time integrated into a sleeker and more aerodynamic silhouette. Squared wheel arches, a prominent LED light bar at the back and new split headlamps up front give it a commanding stance.
On the inside, the dashboard layout features three individual displays – one each for the driver, infotainment system and front passenger. Premium materials, a dual-tone interior theme and ambient lighting along with a panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charger, ventilated front seats and a Harman audio setup are of high possibilities.
Tata will equip the new Sierra with Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, six airbags, and electronic stability control. Multiple drive and terrain modes will also be offered. The ICE Sierra will lock horns with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, etc while the electric iteration will compete with Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra XEV 9e and upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV.
