Launched earlier this month in a refreshed avatar, Mahindra Bolero is the most affordable diesel-powered vehicle in the Indian market. Priced between Rs 7.99-9.69 lakh (ex-showroom), it comes with multiple premium features in the form of front fog lamps, diamond-cut 15-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, steering-mounted audio controls and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

2. Tata Altroz

It is the only hatchback model in India to come with a diesel engine. Available in three variants namely Pure, Creative and Accomplished S at price points of Rs 8.10 lakh, Rs 9.32 lakh and Rs 10.17 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, Tata Altroz houses a 1.5L turbocharged Revotorq engine with top power of 89 bhp and highest torque of 200 Nm while linked to a 5-speed transmission.

The Bolero Neo gets several upmarket bells and whistles in the form of 16-inch alloy wheels in Dark metallic grey, leatherette upholstery, rear-view camera, USB C-type charging port, cruise control, Multi-Terrain Technology (MTT) and 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Under the hood, it has the mHAWK100 engine which delivers 98.6 bhp and 260 Nm with a 5-speed gearbox.

4. Mahindra XUV 3XO

Available at a starting price of Rs 8.95 lakh in MX2 grade, Mahindra XUV 3XO is one of the best-selling compact SUVs in the Indian market.
