On the first day of the three-day friendly between Mumbai and Maharashtra at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Gahunje, Pune, Shaw allegedly went one step further by attempting to raise the bat and grasp the Mumbai spinner’s collar after getting severely slegged.

Shaw reportedly took offense at the send-off after completing an incredible century, which sparked the brawl. An on-field umpire was seen on camera calming Shaw down and removing him from the Mumbai players.

“It’s a practice match. They are all former teammates. Such things happen. It’s all ok now and there is no issue,” said Ankit Bhawne, the captain of Maharashtra side. At the time of publication there is no information of either Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and Maharashtra Cricket Association (MACA) escalating the matter.
