Yamaha India has confirmed the launch of a new model on November 11 by sending out the ‘Block Your Date’ media invites in the country

Yamaha India will launch a new two-wheeler on Nov 11, 2025 in the country. The company has sent out ‘Block Your Date’ invite for the same without revealing the name of the model. It is assumed that the Japanese automaker could expand its 150cc range of motorcycles by introducing the XSR 155 which was spotted testing for the first time on the Indian roads last week. However, it is also believed that Yamaha might well present its first electric scooter for India, which is based on the River Indie.

1. Yamaha XSR 155 India Launch

Recently, the XSR 155 was captured on camera with heavy camouflage and red registration plate, indicating that it is indeed being evaluated for the Indian market. The neo-retro bike comes with typical roadster elements such as circular LED headlamp, muscular exhaust pipe, teardrop-styled fuel tank, front USD suspension setup and LED tail-lamp cluster.

The spied images also revealed that Yamaha XSR 155 gets a single-piece flat seat, alloy wheels and sleek rear profile with LED turn indicators. The alloy units, in particular, seemed to have been borrowed from the FZ-X. However, the global-spec XSR 155 rides on differently designed alloy wheels. Sitting on the same frame as the R15 V4, it features disc brakes at both the ends.

Some of the other notable elements in the XSR 155 include rear monoshock suspension, 17-inch wheels and round instrument cluster. It is powered by the tried-and-trusted 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which develops top power of 18.1 bhp and peak torque of 14 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission with a slip and assist clutch.

2. Yamaha Electric Scooter India Launch

While the recent spotting of the XSR 155 hints at its imminent launch, the possibility of Yamaha revealing its first electric scooter for India cannot be ignored altogether. The company had earlier stated that its e-scooter, developed in collaboration with River Mobility, will be ready by the end of 2025. Hence, the new model launching on Nov 11 could also be the Indie-based electric scooter.

Codenamed as RY01, it has been spotted as a test mule multiple times in and around Bengaluru. Yamaha’s electric scooter will borrow a few elements from River Indie such as 14-inch wheels, 6-inch coloured LCD display and swingarm. However, the e-scooter will maintain its individuality in terms of design, body panels and other storage areas.

River Indie is marketed as the ‘SUV of Scooters’ due to its bulky appearance. It is also the heaviest e-scooter, tipping the scale at 143 kg. However, the Yamaha electric scooter is touted to be more conventional with a lightweight structure. The 4 kWh battery pack could be shared among the two models, with Yamaha electric scooter returning a range of 100+ km on a single charge.
