VinFast has debuted in India officially with the launch of the VF6 and VF7 electric vehicles and they are offered with two battery options each
Following the commencement of production at its manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu, VinFast has announced the prices of the VF6 and VF7 in the domestic market today. The duo of zero-emission vehicles are initially brought into the country via Completely Knocked Down route and more vehicles will follow suit in the coming years.
Reservations for the VF6 and VF7 have already commenced at the brand’s official website and online. The VF6 has an overall length of 4,238 mm, width of 1,820 mm wide and boasts a wheelbase length of 2,730 mm. The bootspace capacity stands at 423 litres. As for styling, the five-seater gets connected rear LED light bar and V-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights.
One of the key highlights is its coupe-like styling when viewed from the sides. The VF6 has been made available in two trims namely Eco and Plus and both are equipped with a 59 kWh Li-ion battery pack with the former churning out around 174 horses and 250 Nm and the latter makes 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of peak torque.
The WLTP-certified range is rated at 399 km for the Eco and 381 km for the Plus trim. It takes only around 30 minutes to replenish from 20 to 80 per cent when connected to a DC fast charger. The VinFast VF7 looks more upmarket and is packed with more features and technologies. It uses a 75.3 kWh battery pack when in standard guise makes 201 hp and 309 Nm of torque.
From 100 to 0 per cent charge, the five-seater is claimed to do up to 451 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. The Plus variant is good enough for 348 hp and 499 Nm as the added performance brings down the range figure to 431 km between charges. On the inside, most of the activities centre around the large touchscreen infotainment system.
The 12.9-inch touchscreen unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is accompanied by Google apps, voice commands, smartphone pairing, ventilated seats at the front, a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone automatic climate control system, ambient lighting function, 7 airbags, a suite of Level 2 ADAS tech comprising adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and more.
