Mahindra XEV 9e & BE 6 are equipped with two battery options with the larger 79 kWh unit enabling a real-world range of more than 500 km between charges
Mahindra & Mahindra’s BE 6 and XEV 9e have gone past another huge milestone in India. With 20,000 deliveries in just five months, the born electric duo have already clocked 9.3 crore kilometres on public roads. Deliveries for the XUV 9e and BE 6 officially kicked off on March 20 – beginning with the top-spec Pack Three trims across India.
In just 70 days, the homegrown carmaker managed to hand over more than 10,000 units – an impressive pace that worked out to roughly one sale every ten minutes. Interestingly, the lion’s share of demand has been skewed towards the XUV 9e with the majority of customers choosing its fully loaded Pack Three variant and in recent months the demand further increased.
Mahindra has been steadily ramping up output of the XUV 9e and BE 6 to keep pace with the strong demand. The two e-SUVs created quite a stir right from launch pulling in a massive booking total of 30,179 units on the opening day alone. Built on Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO skateboard platform, the XUV 9e and BE 6 are equipped with two battery options.

Both models are offered with a large 79 kWh battery pack that promises over 500 km of usable range in everyday conditions. The 59 kWh unit is paired with a 170 kW motor and the larger battery pack comes mated to a more powerful 210 kW motor. Fast charging capability is standard across both with the smaller battery supporting up to 140 kW DC chargers.
The bigger pack goes a step further – enabling 20 to 80 per cent top-ups in around 20 minutes when plugged into a 175 kW DC system. Buyers get multiple drive modes including a dedicated Boost Mode for those quick bursts of acceleration. Energy recuperation is handled through multi-level regenerative braking with the added convenience of an Auto setting and a one-pedal drive function for city use.

Handling is aided by an electric power steering system with a variable gear ratio while maintaining a tight 10-metre turning radius. Underneath, Mahindra has equipped the pair with iLink suspension at the front and a 5-link setup at the rear – backed by MTV-CL dampers and frequency-dependent damping.
Some of the equipment highlights are brake-by-wire technology, a panoramic glass roof with ambient lighting, ventilated seats, 43-inch triple screen infotainment layout, seven airbags, ABS with EBD and a 360-degree camera with live feed come standard.
