Maruti Suzuki Victoris will be sold in six variants namely LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi(O), ZXi+ and ZXi+ (O); gets 5 stars in Bharat NCAP crash tests
Maruti Suzuki officially introduced the Victoris, its newest midsize SUV that sits neatly between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara in the brand’s lineup, yesterday. Buyers will be able to choose from ten paint options such as Mystic Green, Eternal Blue, Sizzling Red, Magma Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Bluish Black, Eternal Blue with Bluish Black roof, Sizzling Red with Bluish Black roof and Splendid Silver with Bluish Black roof.
The SUV will be offered in six different trims spread across both two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations – LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi(O), ZXi+ and ZXi+ (O). Transmission choices are varied starting with a five-speed manual, a six-speed torque converter automatic with paddle shifters and an eCVT setup that comes exclusively with the strong-hybrid version while four terrain settings and three drive modes are also available.
The Victoris has been tested under the Bharat NCAP programme where it notched up a rating of five stars. The breakdown shows an impressive 31.66 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 43 out of 49 for child occupant protection. It is equipped with six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, traction control and a suite of Level 2 driver assistance features.

The familiar 1.5-litre K-Series Dual VVT four-cylinder petrol motor develops 103.06 PS maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 139 Nm of peak torque at 4,300 rpm. Sitting alongside is a strong hybrid unit, displacing 1.5 litres as well, which is tuned for 92.45 PS at 5,500 rpm and 122 Nm in the 3,800 to 4,800 rpm range.
One of the SUV’s strong suits is the efficiency with the petrol trims delivering between 19 and 21 km per litre depending on gearbox and drivetrain while the hybrid claiming 28.65 km per litre through its eCVT and the CNG variant rated at 27.02 km per kg. Dimensionally, the Victoris stretches 4,360 mm long, stands 1,655 mm tall and is 1,795 mm wide with 2,600 mm wheelbase and 215/60 R17 tyres.

It is packed with several first-for-Maruti features. Some of the highlighting equipment are a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, gesture-controlled powered tailgate, ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS, eight-way powered driver seat, dual pane sunroof, an eight-speaker audio with Dolby Atmos 5.1 surround sound, etc.
