
Gwalior, August 20, 2025: The Semi-Finals of Pro Panja League Season 2, founded by Parvinn Dabass and Preeti Jhangiani, saw last season’s runners-up Kiraak Hyderabad and Rohtak Rowdies storm their way into the Grand Finale.
Kiraak Hyderabad have been the best team in the tournament so far, leading the league in terms of points as they lived up to their reputation yet again with a dominant 31-6 victory over MP Hathodas, winning seven out of the eight matches played. The second fixture wasn’t as simple as Rohtak Rowdies defeated defending champions Jaipur Veers 3-2 in a tie-breaker as the scorers were tied 19-19 after all the Undercard and Main Card matches.
On the occasion of Semi-Finals, teams played four matches in both the Undercard and Main Card providing double the action for fans to enjoy. Also in attendance was Olympic medallist and former Indian boxer Vijender Singh as he was seen supporting Rohtak Rowdies.
In theUndercard of Semi-final 1, Kiraak Hyderabad displayed great power and consistency as they brushed MP Hathodas aside without giving away a point. Naveen MV of Kiraak defeated Akash Handique of MP Hathodas 2-0 in the 60kg category. Siddharth Malakar built on his side’s first win with another victory over Rino Thomas with a score of 2-0 in the 90kg bout. Rachna Jatav carried the momentum and her solid form as she got the better of Bhavna Goswami 2-0 in the 55kg contest and lastly Amit Singh selced the undercard action by overpowering the experienced Shaju AU of MP Hathodas 2-0 in the 100 kg clash and gave Kiraak Hyderabad a dream start.
The Main Card saw Kiraak Hyderabad continue their dominance initially as Madhura KN produced a flawless 5-0 win against Olivia Dkhar in the 65kg category. World champion Aabhas Rana of Kiraak Hyderabad beat MP Hathodas’ Tushar Awasthi 3-1 in the 100+ kg division. Tushar stunned Aabhas in the first round with a powerful pin to open the account for his side however Aabhas stole the show from thereon by winning three rounds in a row to make a solid comeback.
Stewe Thomas followed up with a strong 10-0 victory over Hathodas captain Tridip Medhi in the 70kg bout. Stewe, who is renowned for his dangerous flashpins, continued his undefeated run of Season 2 by pinning his opponent in under a second, for three rounds on the trot. During the challenger round, Stew just took 0.11 second to pin Tridip as he showcased his dominance ahead of the final.
The final contest of the night saw MP Hathodas star Sachin Goyal and Kiraak Hyderabad Hyderabad Captain Asker Ali split the points 5-5 in the 80kg clash. Although Sachin won all three rounds against Asker, he couldn’t pin his opponent in under seven second during the challenger round, handing five more points to Kiraak Hyderabad as they cruised into the final.
The second Semi-Final between Jaipur Veers and Rohtak Rowdies turned out to be a see-saw contest that went down to the wire. In the Undercard, Deepankor Mech gave the Rowdies the lead with a 2-1 win over Vanlallura in the 70kg clash. Rohtak Rowdies star Dara Singh increased their lead with an entertaining 2-0 win over Davinder Kandola of Jaipur Veers in the 100kg bout. Rudra Naik turned the tide for Veers with a 2-0 win over Nikhil Singh of Rohtak Rowdies in the 60kg contest. Teammate Abhirami PK levelled things again with a gritty 2-0 win over Karabi Sonowal in the 55kg category.
With the undercard tied at 4-4, everything came down to the Main Card. Asian and World Champion Srinivas BV enjoyed a dominant 10-0 win over Jaipur Veer’s Manoj Patel in the specially-abled category.
Siddhant Kathuria of Jaipur Veers continued his streak of dominance with a 10-0 win over Rowdies’ Pranjit Saikia in the 90kg clash equalling the scores again. In the penultimate match, Jaipur Veers’ captain Mazahir Saidu proved unstoppable as he defeated Attar Singh 5-0 in the 100+ kg division to take the lead for the first time. In the do-or-die 80kg bout, Billa Tajamul needed a 5-0 win to push the fixture into a tie-breaker and he did just that, beating Abhishek Prakash and levelling the scorers 19-19. Owner of Rohtak Rowdies Owner Abhishek Malik and Team Ambassador Vijender Singh gave Srinivas and Billa a standing ovation for their valiant efforts on the table.
In the tie-breaker, both teams sent five of their players to play single round matches to decide the winners.
The first match saw two heavyweights, Veers’ Siddhanth Kathuria of the 90 kg category and Rowdies’ Dara Singh of the 100 kg category clash in which the latter prevailed to take the lead. Veers’ Captain Mazahir defeated Attar Singh to equalise the scores again followed by a win for Bimla Rawat over Ribasuk Lyngdoh taking the lead. This was followed by another star-studded clash where the student became the teacher as Nirmal Devi of Rohtak Rowdies defeated Yogesh Choudhary of Jaipur Veers to level the fixture again. Srinivas BV ended the tie-breaker as he defeated Dinesh Singh to book a spot in the final for Rohtak Rowdies.
With the results, the stage is set for a blockbuster Grand Finale scheduled for August 21st as Kiraak Hyderabad take on Rohtak Rowdies in the battle for the Season 2 crown of the Pro Panja League.
