Harry Brook Test Record At Edgbaston: Harry Brook is one of the best Test batters in the world at the moment. But today, we will look at how well he has done in Test cricket at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, the site of the 2nd India vs England Test match.
The way the English media hypes up some of their players can be nauseating. From certain footballers to the style of cricket that is ‘Bazzball’, it seems that the English people and their media believe that their teams, players, and strategies are the best in the world when they clearly aren’t.
But Harry Brook might just be an exception to the rule. The 26-year-old is among the most promising all-format cricketers in the world. While his explosive and attacking style makes him suited for limited-overs cricket, where he does well, the format where Brook shines the brightest is Test cricket.
The middle-order batter has played 26 Test matches in his career and has scored 2438 runs at a scintillating average of 58.04 and a strike rate of 88.84. He has scored eight Test hundreds in his career, including a massive triple hundred against Pakistan in 2024.

This record was even better before the start of this year. By 20 tests, Harry’s Test average was over 60. Even still, his average in the longest format of the game is the second highest for any active batter and the highest for any with 20 tests or over.
In the first Test match of the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series, Brook scored a solid 99 in the first inning at Headingley, nearly making his ninth Test 100 before getting out in heartbreaking fashion.
Harry Brook Test Record At Edgbaston
With the second Test of the series of five to be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham, we will not take a look at Harry Brook’s Test record at this ground. Spoiler alert, it is not the best.
Brook has played two Tests in Birmingham, once against Australia in June 2023 and the other time against the West Indies in July 2024. In these two Tests, he batted thrice and scored 32, 46, and two runs, respectively. That’s 80 runs across three innings at an average of 26.66. And while the strike rate for such a sample size does not say much, it did not fall too much, as Brook struck at a rate of 86.95 in those two games.
Harry Brook’s numbers in Tests as a whole are not as good as they are in this format as a whole. In 22 innings across 12 matches at home, the English batter has made 918 runs at an average of 39.91.
The upcoming 2nd India vs England Test match, which will be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham, will commence on July 2. This will be a crucial game for both teams. While the Three Lions will look to improve their stranglehold on this series with a win and a 2-0 lead, the Men in Blue will look to even things up with a win and draw the series 1-1.
