In the 2025–2026 season, the Gujarat Cricket Association plans to start its own T20 competition, following the lead of several other state associations.

The Gujarat Cricket Association secretary, Anil Patel, gave Cricbuzz confirmation of the decision. He also mentioned that they have not yet decided on a good time for the event, the number of teams, or other specifics.

With leagues in Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, domestic T20 tournaments throughout the nation have evolved into scouting grounds for IPL teams. The states of Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Saurashtra all give indigenous talent a stage on which to gain recognition and advance. After the Indian Premier League season ends at the end of May, a number of these competitions run in June and July.
