Within the next half year, the midsize SUV segment will see plenty of action and here we have listed the 8 upcoming models
The midsize SUV category in India is brimming with excitement as multiple carmakers prepare to introduce brand new models in both ICE and EV formats. Over the next six months, major players such as Tata Motors, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Renault and Nissan will expand their portfolios. Here’s a detailed look at the upcoming arrivals.
1&2. Tata Sierra ICE & EV:

The iconic Tata Sierra is making a comeback in both ICE and electric versions. The internal combustion model is slated for launch on November 25, 2025, while the Sierra EV will follow in early 2026. Expect the ICE range to offer 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, turbo petrol, and diesel engine choices. The electric iteration will share several components with the Harrier EV.
3. Mahindra XEV 9S:

The Mahindra XEV 9S is a three-row electric SUV derived from the XUV.e8 concept. Set to launch later this month, it will share much of its design cues with the XUV700 while featuring large battery options similar to the XEV 9e and BE6. Mahindra has begun its teaser campaign already and it has been confirmed to get a triple screen layout.
4. Renault Duster (Next Gen):

The next-gen Renault Duster will be unveiled on January 26, 2026, built on the modular CMF-B platform used globally. It will pack a premium cabin, new safety features and two turbo petrol engine options paired with 6-speed manual or automatic gearboxes. A hybrid variant is also expected later – positioning the Duster strongly in the midsize SUV race.
5&6. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara & Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV:

Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV, the e Vitara, is built on the Heartect e platform and will debut with two battery pack options with over 500 km of claimed range. Its Toyota counterpart, the Urban Cruiser BEV, will follow soon after with identical underpinnings but different styling cues.
7. Mahindra XUV700 Facelift:

The refreshed Mahindra XUV700 will arrive in early 2026 with updated styling and an all-new cabin layout. Inside, expect triple displays, a redesigned dashboard and centre console and upgraded materials. Powertrain options will remain unchanged – continuing with the proven 2.2L diesel and 2.0L turbo-petrol engines paired with both manual and automatic gearboxes.
8. Nissan Tekton:

The Nissan Tekton will join the midsize SUV space in H1 2026 and share its underpinnings with the upcoming Renault Duster. However, it will sport a unique design language inspired by the global Patrol SUV – offering a more muscular exterior and premium cabin. The Tekton will play a crucial role in Nissan’s comeback strategy in India.
