The central government’s new GST 2.0 structure for passenger cars has revised tax slabs cutting effective prices on small cars, compact SUVs and entry-level sedans right on time for the festive season. It results in some of the most aggressive combined discounts and price drops Indian buyers have seen in quite a long while.
Leading brands are combining tax cuts with traditional offers like exchange bonuses, cash discounts and loyalty schemes. Honda is using the updated GST regime to increase demand for the Amaze sedan which received a new generation only late last year. The ZX CVT alone sees a reduction of up to Rs. 1.20 lakh – bringing its price down to Rs. 9.99 lakh.
Alongside, Honda is offering cash benefits of Rs. 10,000, exchange support between Rs. 10,000–40,000 and loyalty or corporate perks. The combined value of GST relief and festive offers reaches as high as Rs. 2.52 lakh. Mahindra & Mahindra’s diesel-spec XUV3XO has also gained a huge price reduction making it more attractive than ever before.

Thanks to the GST relaxation, the compact SUV is cheaper by Rs. 1.56 lakh. On top of that, Mahindra is throwing in about Rs. 1.09 lakh worth of festive incentives. Add them together, and the overall benefit to buyers is Rs. 2.65 lakh – one of the biggest cuts in the segment. Tata Motors has gone aggressive with the Punch as well ahead of the arrival of the facelift.
The base trims of the micro SUV now benefit from GST relief worth Rs. 1.08 lakh – effectively rolling prices back to the 2021 launch tag of Rs. 5.49 lakh. The total benefits can climb up to Rs. 1.58 lakh when festive deals are included – giving customers a maximum combined saving of up to Rs. 2.66 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki is playing the entry-level card with the S-Presso. The quirky hatchback enjoys a GST cut of Rs. 1.29 lakh with direct festive perks adding up to Rs. 61,000. In total, buyers stand to gain Rs. 1.90 lakh off. The revised starting price of Rs. 3.49 lakh makes the S-Presso one of the most affordable new cars available in India today.
Kia, meanwhile, is driving festive interest with tempting deals for the Sonet diesel. GST relief lowers prices by Rs. 1.64 lakh while additional festive benefits ranging between Rs. 35,000–40,000 translate into an overall saving of roughly Rs. 2.04 lakh.
