Here we have explained about the top four SUV launches expected from India’s top four carmakers this festive season
With the festive period fast approaching, carmakers are once again lining up new launches to tap into the strong buyer sentiment that traditionally kicks in at this time of the year. From Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai to Mahindra and Tata, some of the most anticipated models from India’s biggest brands are gearing up to hit showrooms and here’s what to expect.
1. Maruti Suzuki Escudo:
Maruti Suzuki will bring in a brand new midsize SUV which could be named the Escudo. The five-seater will be powered by the same 1.5L mild hybrid and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engines found in the Grand Vitara. It will be retailed through the Arena dealerships and will be positioned below the Grand Vitara in the brand’s lineup.
The overall styling of the midsize SUV, which is expected to be slightly longer than the Grand Vitara, will be inspired by the upcoming e Vitara and Grand Vitara. It will also be loaded with modern equipment as a large touchscreen infotainment system, six airbags as standard, automatic climate control, wireless charger, etc could be offered.

2. New Gen Hyundai Venue:
The upcoming third-gen Hyundai Venue has been spotted on test runs quite a few times in recent months – hinting that it is moving closer to launch. The compact SUV is set to undergo a comprehensive overhaul both in terms of design and cabin upgrades while its feature list will see a major bump.
Expect standout additions such as a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS along with styling influences clearly drawn from its bigger siblings. As for the performance, the familiar 1.2L NA petrol, a 1.0L three-pot turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel engine will continue.
3. Mahindra 3-Door Thar Facelift:
The facelifted three-door Mahindra Thar will be heavily inspired by the Thar Roxx and it has been spied testing too. Being a mid-cycle update, it will continue to sit on a ladder frame and could become slightly premium in terms of equipment and technologies borrowing plenty of stuff from its five-door counterpart. However, the 1.5L diesel, 2.0L petrol and 2.2L diesel engines will stay put.

4. Tata Punch Facelift:
Unlike most of Tata’s high-volume SUVs that have gone through steady refreshes, the Punch ICE has largely stayed true to its original 2021 design without any major styling tweaks. That is set to change soon as Tata plans to bring it closer in line with the Punch EV through updated exterior detailing and a more feature-rich cabin.
