Here we have brought you all the key information about the 4 new midsize electric SUVs waiting to hit the road from Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra and Toyota within the next half year

The midsize e-SUV segment will see the arrival of as many as four new models within the next six months from automakers like Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra and Toyota and here we have explained about them:

1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

Maruti Suzuki’s first full-electric SUV, the e-Vitara, is slated for launch in India in the coming months. Built in Gujarat on the brand’s dedicated Heartect-e platform, the e-Vitara will offer two battery options – a 49 kWh pack and a larger 61 kWh unit. With the larger pack, Maruti may claim to offer a driving range crossing the 500 km mark on a full charge.

On the EV side, Tata is readying dual battery pack options that could deliver a claimed driving range beyond 500 km, depending on the version and it could be introduced early next year. The upcoming Sierra features a triple-screen setup along with drive and terrain mode selectors, ventilated front seats, a large pano roof and premium finishes across the dash.

3. Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV:

Toyota is looking to enter India’s fast-growing electric SUV market with the Urban Cruiser BEV. Based on the same Heartect-e platform as the e Vitara, the SUV is expected to debut in early 2026. It will be offered with two battery options as well and will feature dual screens, wireless phone charging, OTA updates, and an advanced driver assistance system.

4. Mahindra XEV 7e:

Mahindra appears to be nearing the launch of the electric version of its popular XUV700 which could be dubbed XEV 7e. The test units show a sealed front grille, redesigned aero-style wheel coverings, a triple-screen dashboard layout, premium surface materials and perhaps the addition of ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof amongst others.

Under the skin, the XEV 7e is expected to ride on Mahindra’s INGLO platform and is rumoured to offer two battery pack options. Reports suggest the larger pack may deliver a real-world driving range of up to around 500 km and potentially a dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant. Speculations indicate that it could go on sale in H1 2026.
