Interior of the new gen Hilux was leaked recently in a patent filing and it could be same for the new gen fortuner as well
The Fortuner continues to dominate the full-size SUV segment effortlessly in India. The current-gen seven-seater made its debut back in late 2016. While Toyota has remained tight-lipped about the official launch timeline of its successor, the speculative render seen here offers a strong hint at what the third-gen model – likely influenced by the latest Tacoma and other global Toyota SUVs – could shape up to be.
The digital imagery shows the presence of a sharper LED headlamp cluster with integrated C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights, black finished alloy wheels and grille section, sculpted bonnet section, large greenhouse, triangular bumper housings and more. It will also be offered with mechanically enhanced GR trims.
The interior of the ninth generation Toyota Hilux was recently leaked online and based on it we have rendered the cabin of the forthcoming Fortuner as both models will have a lot in common with each other. Drawing inspiration from the latest Land Cruiser Prado, the dashboard features a layered layout and it will be more upscale than the one found in the outgoing version.

Notably, the cabin features two prominent 12.3-inch displays – one serving as the digital instrument cluster and the other a freestanding touchscreen for infotainment duties. Below the main screen sit redesigned air conditioning vents. The gear lever, too, has been reworked and plenty of storage options will also be available.
Despite the modernised cabin, Toyota hasn’t gone for radical changes. The overall interior design is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Under the skin, the upcoming Fortuner will feature a new ladder frame IMV construction. Engine options are expected to remain the same as the tried-and-tested 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre turbo diesel units with mild hybrid technology will be utilised.

The infotainment system is expected to share software with the current Prado offering improved connectivity and responsiveness. A global reveal for the all-new Fortuner is expected sometime next year following the arrival of the new-gen Hilux in the coming months.
It could arrive at ASEAN markets first before reaching India considering its high popularity here. Toyota recently introduced the 48V mild-hybrid version of the Fortuner. Globally, a more compact version, dubbed the Land Cruiser FJ, could arrive in the coming years based on the IMV 0 platform which currently underpins the Hilux Champ pickup in Thailand.
