2025 TVS Apache RTR 160 gets red alloy wheels, OBD2B compliant engine and a dual-channel ABS system
The Apache RTR 160, one of TVS Motor Company’s longest running nameplates in the sporty commuter class, has just received its most significant update in years. For 2025, the motorcycle gets dual channel ABS – a first for the RTR 160 line – and a refreshed set of features. Alongside the ABS upgrade, the 2025 Apache RTR 160 complies with the more stringent OBD2B norms.
While the engine remains unchanged in its output, the safety aspect has been improved further. A pair of red finished alloy wheels now complements the sporty design with new paint options such as Matte Black and Pearl White joining the catalogue to bring a refreshed appeal. Power comes from the familiar 159.7 cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine.
It continues to produce a maximum power output of 16.04 PS at 8,750 rpm and 13.85 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. These figures keep the RTR 160 firmly among the most powerful offerings in the 160 cc category. Combined with the motorcycle’s relatively low kerb weight, the power-to-weight ratio still stands as one of the best in class.

On the features front, little has changed from the previous model. Riders still get access to three ride modes – Sport, Urban, and Rain – along with Bluetooth connectivity through TVS SmartXonnect which includes Voice Assist integration. The digital instrument cluster remains a familiar setup, offering the usual telemetry.
The dual channel ABS upgrade is undoubtedly the key talking point for this year’s model update. The Hosur-based manufacturer has priced the 2025 Apache RTR 160 from Rs. 1,34,320 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The motorcycle is now on sale across dealerships in the country and it continues to compete with Bajaj Pulsar N160 and Hero Xtreme 160R. For the company, the Apache brand continues to be a central pillar with over 6 million unit sales across the globe.
