Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava impresses with Rs 180 crore in its second week, making it the second-biggest second-weekend grosser among Hindi films. The historical drama trails just behind Pushpa 2. Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has delivered a stellar box office performance, emerging as the second-biggest second-weekend grosser among Hindi films. While Pushpa 2 continues its dominance as the biggest box office phenomenon, Chhaava has managed to surpass some of Bollywood’s biggest hits. It outperformed many big blockbusters in the second week like Shraddha Kapoor- Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 (Rs 141.4 crore), Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 125.46 crore), and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 (Rs 134.47 crore) .
Chhaava is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has struck a chord with audiences, particularly in Maharashtra, where it continues to see housefull shows. Vicky Kaushal’s powerful performance and the emotional depth of the narrative have contributed to its sustained momentum at the box office.The overall collection of Chhaava now stands at Rs 399.25 crore and it has its eyes now set at Rs 450 crore mark which it should easily cross as no big release has been lined up till mid of March.

Chhaava directed by Laxman Utekar also features Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai and Viineet Kumar Singh as Kavi Kalash. Vicky is now in the midst of shooting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. It is his second film with the celebrity couple after Sanju and Raazi, performance and box office wise both the films rank very highly in Vicky’s filmography. Post which he is expected to start working on Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar which is based on the life of Lord Parshuram- the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Talking about how the film in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Amar said,“I’ve always wanted to explore different genres, and mythology is something that has fascinated me since childhood. My mother used to tell me mythological stories, and I would imagine how those events might have unfolded. Now that I’m in the film industry, and fortunately, some of my films have been successful, I have the support of my producers. I’ve learned a lot about VFX and storytelling, and this project feels like both a responsibility and a challenge. I think I work best when faced with a challenge.”
